Mice and Men
The story of mice and men is about two men that travel together
from ranch to ranch to find work. The two men names were Lennie and George. Lennie is mentally retarded and doesn’t know his own strength. He is
like a big baby sort to say in a big rough mans body. George is Lennie’s bestfriend. He takes care
and watches over Lennie because of a promise that he made Lennie’s aunt before
she died. George is always trying to
keep Lennie away from trouble.
The story takes place in Salinas, California after Lennie and George escape from a
ranch I weed, California. When they arrive in
With Lennie knowing that he is to stay
away from Curley and Curley’s wife, he does just that. Curley is a small man who likes to boss
around and bully everyone. Curley gets
mad and starts punching Lennie and Lennie just sits there and takes it until
George tells him to sock him. After he heard that from George he did exactly
what George told him to do. The next punch that Curley attempted Lennie grabbed Curley’s hand and squeezed it until it broke and blood
was rushing down Curley’’s hand. Candy
had a dog which was mighty old and was Candy’s best friend. Carlson decided to be rude and tell Curley
that he had to kill his dog and put it out of his misery. Candy did not want to
kill his best
friend but because of
everyone in the bunk complaining about his dog he went on and let Carlson kill
his dog. While Curley’s hand was still
hurt his wife was asking Lennie and George about how Curley got his hand caught
up in the machine, and if it really got caught up in the machine. The next day
while all of the men where playing horse shoe, Lennie was playing with his puppy all alone in the barn. He killed it by hitting it because the dog
bit him; he killed it on accident. He
saw Curley’’s wife come in and he tried to hide the dog. They began talking about how she could have
been a movie star and how she doesn’t like Curley. He started feeling on her hair and he rubbed
on her hair longer than she wanted him too. And she started to raise her voice
and scream and Lennie did not know what to do so he put his hand around her
mouth and told her not to scream because she was going to get him into
trouble. She kept screaming so he
twirled her around and accidentally broke her neck and she was dead. He laid her down in the barn and ran away
from the barn to the place where George told him to run if he got into any
trouble.
After Curley and the men found out that Curley’s wife was
dead they all went to get
there guns and jumped on there horses and went to look for Lennie because
Curley wanted to kill Lennie for killing his wife. Meanwhile George was trying to get to Lennie
before the rest of the men would. So George ran until he found him and they
hugged each other. Lennie
was happy and also scared to see George because he was alone and he wanted to tend to the
rabbits. George told him that he wasn’t
mad at him and retold him the story of how they were going to live. While George was telling Lennie about the
story he shot Lennie in the back of the head.
